Sermon Title: The Model Walk
Sermon Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12
Sermon Purpose: To call the hearer to model a way of living that is reflected of saints set apart unto God, in a perverse and wicked generation.
Sermon Proposition: There are 3 criteria necessary for a God pleasing model walk.

1. The model walk is reflected by sanctified purity. v.1-8

   • Sanctified purity is necessary because of the command of God. v.1-2

   • Sanctified purity is necessary because of the cleansing of God. v.3-5

   • Sanctified purity is necessary because of the condemnation of God. v.6

   • Sanctified purity is necessary because of the call of God. v.7-8

   
   
   

2. The model walk is reflected by sanctified passion. v.9-10

   • Sanctified passion is necessary because of the teaching of God. v.9

   • Sanctified passion is necessary because of the training of God. v.10 (John 13:34; 1 Peter 1:22; Titus 2:11-15; 1 John 4:21)

   • Binds each other together as a family as brotherly clan.
   • Binds each in an unbreakable union.
   • Holds each other ever so deeply within the heart.
   • Nourishes and nurtures each other.
   • Joins hands with each other in a common purpose.
   
   
   

3. The model walk is reflected by sanctified peacemaking. v.11-12

   • Sanctified peacemaking is modeled by a quiet life. v.11a (1 Peter 1:22)

   • Sanctified peacemaking is modeled by minding your own business. v.11b (1 Peter 4:15)

   • Sanctified peacemaking is modeled by working with your hands. v.11c (Ephesians 4:28)

   • Sanctified peacemaking is modeled in the world. v.12a.

   • Sanctified peacemaking is modeled by lacking nothing. v.12b (Matthew 6:33)
