Sermon Purpose: To call the hearer to take seriously the future judgment of how one has lived in relationship to honoring God.
Sermon Proposition: There are 3 prophetic promises and warnings concerning judgment given by Malachi.

The promised judgement of a righteous lifestyle. v.2-3 (Micah 7:10; Psalm 103:3; Isaiah 53:5)
The promised judgement of a reconciled lifestyle. v.4-6 (Matthew 17:11-12; Rev. 11:1-13; Rev. 11:3-6; Exodus 20:3; Joshua 8:32; Joshua 23:6; 1 Kings 2:3)
