Pastor Robert L. Strong, the 7th of 13 siblings was born in the Razor-Back state of Arkansas in a small town called Holy Grove. He moved to Kansas City at age 7 with his mother Ruthie Mae Strong who became a single parent. He grew up in the inner city and graduated from Paseo High School in 1978. After graduating high school, he joined and served six years in the Army National Guard. He has been employed at various places such as Butler Manufacturing Company as a welder, Venture Automotive as a auto repair technician, Firestone Tires and Rubber Co. as an Assistant Manager, and Welco Manufacturing Company as a packer and machine operator and is currently employed with City Union Mission as the Administrator of the Emergency Shelter. While growing up in his mother's house, he went to church and was baptized one Sunday after an emotional experience which was common for the members in attendance on Sunday. Even after being baptized, there was no change in his heart. He spent his adult life pursuing the love of money, cars, and women, with no real plan or definite direction in his life and not a clue what love and true relationships were all about. At the age of 27 years old in 1988, he heard the good new of Jesus Christ preached by one of his own brother's in the ministry of Jesus Christ and realized there was something wrong in his own life. He began to search the Bible for answers and found the answer in what the Bible says about grace and faith in Jesus Christ in order to be saved. He believed it with all his heart and from that time his life changed and continues to change. In 1990, he enrolled in Bible College in pursuit of knowing more about his faith. In the spring of 1993, he met Carolyn Ricks at the graduation ceremony of Carver Baptist Bible College and they were married one year later. He and Carolyn are raising 4 children in North Kansas City. He is serving the Lord at Dynamic Life Baptist Ministries as the pastor of the Discipleship ministry and his community through City Union Mission Family Center. Pastor Strong graduated from Carver Baptist Bible College and Institute with an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies in 1998. Pastor Strong has passion and desire to see other believers grow from spiritual infancy to spiritual maturity (Ephesians 4:11-16). God has designed the developmental process of a child to take place within the context of a family, whereby the child is nurtured and trained by his/her parents into adulthood and if the child or children had kids the process is repeated. So it is in the spiritual developmental process of a new born baby in Christ. God has designed the developmental process of a new believer in Jesus Christ to take place in His family called the Church, where the new believer is nurtured on the milk of God's Word and trained how to live right by a spirtually mature parent until they are able to repeat the process with somenone else. The process involves accountable relationships and progressive movement toward Christ likeness.
